Types of Tequila

Not all tequila is equal

Tequila can generally be divided into 2 categories: 100% agave tequila and mixto tequila. 100% agave tequila is made without any other spirit blended in. All spirit is derived from the processing of Tequilana Weber Blue Agave. Mixto tequila must use a minimum of 51% blue agave, with other sugars used to make the final spirit. Learn about Mezcal

Mezcal is typically aged less than tequila and the flavours come from a different species of agave. The piñas are cooked in a deep earthen pit, and it’s the days-long roasting process using wood fire that gives Mezcal its smoky signature taste.
